Welcome to Year 2! I hope you and your children have all had an enjoyable and relaxing summer holiday. We have lots of exciting topics planned for this half term, which I am really looking forward to!
In English we will be focusing on a story called "The Leopard's Drum" by Jessica Souhami. To find out more about our learning in English, click on our English tab.
Our first mathematics strand for this half term will be place value. The children will be learning how to read and write numbers to at least 100 in numerals and in words, compare numbers using less than and greater than (<,>), using tens and ones to represent numbers and counting in steps of 2, 3 and 5 from 0, and in tens from any number, forwards and backwards. This half term, the children have some very exciting topics that they will be learning about in their foundation subjects. To find out more about them, click on the Foundation tab.

PE: Our PE days are on a Tuesday afternoons and Wednesday afternoons for this half term. Please ensure your child has a full PE kit in school at all times.
Homework will be sent home each Wednesday and is to be handed in on the following Monday morning
