Year 6 2021 - 2022
Year 6 teacher
Welcome to the Year 6 Class Page!
I hope that you have all had a wonderful Easter break! I am looking forward to checking in on a 1:1 basis with each child to see how they've gotten along with their revision packs over the holidays as, of course, the children will be completing their SATs very soon! If your child attends school; keeps up to date with revision; engages fully during lessons and booster sessions and, most importantly, focusses and believes in themselves, then I have absolutely no doubt that they will achieve everything they will have worked so hard for and more! I appreciate that weeks leading up to, in addition to the week of, SATs are going to be quite stressful, but please know that we are here to support them through this! Further information regarding SATs week will be given soon.
On Monday morning, before assembly, and Wednesday morning, prior to TT Rock Stars in the IT suite, I will be asking the children to read quietly during registration. They are more than welcome to bring in their own book to read during this time.
Homework will be set every Friday by your child's 'Power Teacher' with the expectation that it will be back in school by Wednesday. Alongside our homework each week, I will be setting a stand-alone homework quest that should be completed over the course of a few weeks - details can be found on this page along with our curriculum map!
The children will be developing their knowledge and skills related to cricket on a Wednesday afternoon and those related to dodgeball / benchball on a Friday afternoon. To clarify, please ensure that your child has their PE kit in school on Wednesday and Friday each week.
The deadline for the deposit of £40.00 is Friday 29th April. The trip will go ahead depending on numbers. Further information will be provided at a later date.
Should you have any concerns or queries, please know that I am usually available to talk at home time or you can make contact with me via Seesaw.
