Wear Red Day
The assembly hall was a sea of red at school when staff and pupils took part in ‘Wear Red day 2016’. Everton, Liverpool and Man City fans alike were ‘united’ in their support of the charity ‘Show Racism the Red Card’, collecting almost £170 for this worthwhile cause.
The charity believes that education is key in challenging racism in society and their work with the next generation in schools provides support for parents, teachers and educates children as they fight to eradicate racism across the United Kingdom.
Mrs Lawton said, ‘What a welcome to Palace Fields… not only was there a sea of red, but a sea of smiley faces as I spoke to the children at their morning assembly. I can’t wait until next half term and feel so lucky to be working with such amazing children. Exciting times ahead!’
