As though there hasn’t been enough to celebrate already during the new academic year, we’re delighted to be welcoming our new Head of School Mrs Karen Lawton when we return to school after the half term holiday.

Mrs Lawton began teaching  in 1995, initially working in Netherton. Since then, her career has taken her to work in Tanzania, East Africa and in 2006 she moved to Gibraltar where she worked as a teacher for the  Ministry of Defence, a position she held for 5 years before taking on the role of Assistant Head at Weston Primary School, Runcorn.

Mrs Lawton said, “I am really looking forward to starting at Palace Fields Primary School; leading and working with the community as we move the school into the next exciting stage of its journey towards excellence.”

Mrs Williams, who has transformed the school during the past ten months, will continue to work in a consultative role with us for two days a week to support the transition.

She said, ‘It has been the most exciting time seeing the school develop over the past few months, and the future is bright.  The children here are a joy to work with and are supported by the most fabulous community and a team of committed staff.’

Following our successful HMI visit and, having officially become a member of ‘The Heath Family Multi Academy Trust’ with their reputation for bringing about rapid and sustainable education provision, our future is guaranteed to be exciting!
