Anyone for Tennis?
“I didn’t know tennis could be so much fun!” one of our Year 4’s said when they enjoyed a fun packed day at Widnes Tennis Academy.
Working with the centre’s level 3 Andrew Beswick, the class developed their tennis skills through games and fun based activities.
The trip was organised by Mr Owen, himself an accomplished tennis player and coach at the centre.
“They were wonderful ambassadors for our school, he said, “and this was a fantastic opportunity for them to visit a sports specific setting and learn more about this particular sport.”
Mrs Lawton added, “At Palace Fields we work hard to provide our children with a varied curriculum both in and out of the school grounds. The physical education curriculum is no exception and we believe that by giving pupils opportunities to experience different sports, they are more likely to participate outside of school and develop skills and habits to support a healthy lifestyle.”
