Miss Mollie Bond

EYFS Class teacher

Palace Fields Early Years Foundation Stage

Welcome to our EYFS class page!
"Learning and growing together"

As the year begins, I feel so grateful that I get to facilitate the EYFS pupils’ learning. I simply cannot wait to help them to develop academically, socially and emotionally. There is plenty of new concepts and content to introduce in our foundation stage, and an abundance of memorable, learning experiences too. I feel privileged to be able to start your Palace Fields journey alongside you all.

Each day, we expect our pupils to show our ACORN (ambition, creativity, ownership, resilience and nurture) values in all that they do, whilst showing mutual respect and tolerance to one another.

To view our EYFS curriculum overview, please see the files section at the bottom of this page. This document will outline the topics for each term, for each area of the development matters curriculum.

In addition to this, you will find the EYFS autumn term timetable and our autumn term topic map.

Key Information

Uniform

Our pupil’s should arrive at school in full school uniform, including suitable all-black footwear. Please can you ensure that your child's uniform is clearly labelled with their name. We will always encourage children to be responsible for their own belongings whilst in school.

Reading

At Palace Fields, we have set the expectation that children are reading at home every day, as well as having their reading books in school with them every day. Our library is open to the children every break time for them to take books out, and then swap them, once they have finished.

For more information on how you can support your child's reading at home, please see the following link: https://home.oxfordowl.co.uk/reading/reading-age-4-5-reception/

Homework

Homework will be set every Friday with the expectation that it will be back in school the following Wednesday. Alongside our homework each week, I will be setting a stand-alone homework quest that should be completed over the course of a few weeks - details can be found at the bottom of this page, along with our curriculum map!

PE

The children will be developing their knowledge and skills in PE on Wednesday's. Children are expected to have full PE kit for every lesson (ie. plain white top, navy/black shorts and trainers/pumps).

Snack

Snack is available in school (milk and a variety of foods I.e toast, crackers, cereal). If your child is having snack, we ask that it is brought in on Monday morning in an envelope with your child's name and the amount clearly shown. For school snack it is £1.50 for the week.

Water Bottles

Water Bottle – AC Sports

We encourage children to bring a bottle of water to school daily to keep them hydrated throughout their lessons. The children will have many opportunities throughout the day to have a drink of water. Please remember that juice is not permitted in water bottles stored in class but may be consumed with their snack at break time and packed lunch at lunchtime.

Stay and play sessions: Parents, carers, friends and family are normally welcome to stay on advertised afternoons to engage with weekly activities and events such as baking, arts and crafts, phonics play etc.

Star of the week: Each week, we will select two children from class that we believe have shown great effort in their learning and have been displaying our school values. Certificates will be awarded each Friday during Celebration Assembly.

Should you have any concerns or queries, please know that I am usually available to talk at home time or you can make contact with me via Seesaw or via email: mbond@pfp.theheathfamily.org.uk

Thanks again for your support,

Miss Bond
